Yong Ok Lee is a Los Angeles-based production designer. She received her MFA in Production Design from the American Film Institute. She is originally from Seoul, South Korea, where she began her career in the fashion industry as a buyer and merchandiser for F&F before becoming a fashion editor for industry publication Fashion Biz. Yong’s career started as an art director in Korean film industry after she left her fashion editor freelance job in 2005. She worked on Korean box office top 10 features such as SEVEN DAYS, starring Yunjin Kim (Lost, Mistresses). Projects now take her across the United States, in addition to South Korea and China.
Her feature credits includes THEY, PANDEMIC, WE GO ON, DEAD WOMEN WALKING and TV pilot NICE, the latter two which premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival. Her most recent feature, Lulu Wang’s THE FAREWELL premiered at Sundance 2019 to critical acclaim. An excerpt from The Hollywood Reporter:
